For day-by-day dates, each tourist office keeps its own agenda. Here are the official agendas covering the whole Verdon — the living source, always up to date, listed in our register of official sources.

Frequently asked questions

When is the Transhumance Festival held in Castellane?

Castellane’s Fête de la Transhumance is held in mid-June; for any edition, the dates should be confirmed with the town hall or the tourist office as the event approaches. It is a pastoral celebration around the ascent of the flocks, with a parade and festivities in the town centre.

Is there a market every day in the Verdon?

Yes, almost: taken together, the markets of the Verdon municipalities cover nearly the whole week. A few examples — Wednesday and Saturday in Castellane and Aups, Tuesday and Friday in Colmars-les-Alpes, Sunday in La Palud-sur-Verdon and Bauduen, Friday in Moustiers-Sainte-Marie, Thursday in Gréoux-les-Bains and Villecroze, Saturday in Valensole. In summer, several villages add a night market.

How can I tell whether the dates shown are confirmed?

Each festival carries, when the source itself says so, the mention “to be confirmed” — this mostly concerns editions whose exact date has only been announced, or carried over from one year to the next without official communication. If in doubt, the tourist office or the town hall of the municipality will give the confirmed date.

Where can I find a local producers’ market in the Verdon?

Several markets are specifically geared towards local producers: the producers’ and craftspeople’s market in La Palud-sur-Verdon (Sunday morning), the producers’ market in Puimoisson (Monday afternoon), the producers’ market of the Maison de Produits de Pays des Gorges du Verdon in Castellane (summer, day to be confirmed) and the weekly market in Vinon-sur-Verdon (Sunday morning, about fifty stalls of fruit, vegetables, cheese and local crafts).
